Not so good news, but not entirely bad

So my test results came back on the 2hr glucose test. I am borderline type 2 diabetic. My wonderful beautiful genes that have been passed on have also gave me this little ditty! Why it's not entirely bad news is that it's easily taken care of by diet and exercise. *I just have to get rid of the sweets hanging around the house (and not buy any more) and take up running (hmm) or some sort of exercise. Maybe I'll join a gym, maybe. Anyway, I just gotta do it, they'll be testing me every three months for a while to keep tabs.

*This reminds me of the story of Moses and the children of Israel. When they were bitten by snakes and all they had to do was look to be healed. All I have to do is watch what I eat and exercise, it seems so easy and yet I'm reluctant to do it. But I will, because I want to be here for my family and I don't want to be sick.

Couch to 5k!!!

Seriously, good luck! My cousin suggested trying to follow the south beach diet (she's sn ob/gym resident, I talked to her when I got GD)

you could also try swimming. it's good exercise too, but doesn't always feel like exercise. i love you. good luck with everything.

that stinks! But I love your analogy and know you will get this under control. My dad has type II diabetes so I am always trying to be mindful to stay healthy so I don't inherit that one, too. Good luck! And by the way, I have had soooo many compliments on my watches everywhere I go. I need to write your blog address down and carry it with me so I can pass it out! (Should I be getting some kind of commission for this? hahaha)

I need to get business cards and send them along with the watches. I'm so glad you like them!

Mechelle sorry for the crap genes our family all gets to have, but you're good at being healthy so things are okay. It feels good to sweat, yeah it does. By the way happy late birthday.
